We\u2019ve landed a few hundred years ago \u2014 and wow\u2026 these houses are tiny<\/em>!<\/p>\n

Look around \u2014 no big windows, no gardens, and definitely no bathrooms. These homes were super squished together, made from stone and wood, with smoky fires and leaky roofs. Some families had 10 people<\/strong> living in one or two rooms<\/strong>. Can you imagine sharing your bed with your nan, your uncle AND your baby brother?!<\/p>\n

As more people moved to Greenhill, the streets got narrower, and the houses got even more packed. It was noisy, messy \u2014 and kinda fun too! Kids played outside all day, even in the rain. But it wasn\u2019t easy \u2014 there weren\u2019t bins or toilets, and most houses didn\u2019t even have clean water.<\/p>\n

Later on, people built side by side houses<\/strong> \u2014 tiny stone homes squashed together with no gardens at all. And even though they weren\u2019t very comfy, they were better than nothing. Some even had little shops at the front where people sold bread, sweets, or fish.<\/p>\n

It might seem strange now, but for the people of Greenhill, this was home<\/strong>. They looked after each other, shared food, told stories \u2014 and kept going, even when things were tough.<\/p>\n
