The Origins of Greenhill – “Hilly Streets and a Growing Town!”

WHOOSH! Welcome to the very beginning of Greenhill!
Wanna know why it’s called Greenhill? Because… it’s a green… hill! 😄

A long, long time ago — almost 1,000 years back — this was just a grassy hill outside the walls of Swansea. There was a small chapel nearby, and the land was looked after by church people who liked it quiet. But over time, more and more people started arriving, looking for places to live and work.

The hill began to fill with little houses, chapels, and busy streets. Miners, factory workers, shopkeepers, musicians, and families all made Greenhill their home.

It wasn’t fancy — the houses were close together, the markets were noisy, and the factories were smelly — but it was full of life and laughter. Even though life could be hard, the people here were strong, caring, and brave.

💬 STAMP IDEA: Draw a little house on a hill with smoke curling from the chimney — that’s how Greenhill began!

Time to spin the dials! We’re heading into a story of kindness, soup, and some serious superhero energy…
